OBJECTIVE
Hybrid system of membrane technology and adsorption processes
The Life 4 F-gas project aims to demonstrate the full-scale feasibility of a system that hybridizes membrane technology and adsorption processes for the selective recovery and subsequent reuse of F-gases present in commercial F-gas mixtures used in the refrigeration sector.
The project aims to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of EU environmental policy and legislation, especially concerning the fight against climate change and the implementation of circular economy principles at the industrial level.

ROL OF APRIA
Hybrid Adsorption and Membrane System
Apria is the coordinator of the Life-4-Fgases project.
Apria's technical role in the project is the design and construction of a hybrid prototype based on membrane and adsorption technologies.
This system aims to improve the circularity of the RAC sector through the recovery and separation of spent F-Gas mixtures for subsequent reuse in new low GWP refrigerant mixtures.
CONSORTIUM
Life-4-Fgases is formed by a Spanish-Portuguese consortium of five partners.
Ambigroup Reciclagem, S.A., Apria Systems, Apria Systems, ERP Portugal - Asscoiação Gestora de Residuos, NOVA Universisty Lisbon - NOVA School of Science and Technology, and Universidad de Cantabria.
LIFE-4-Fgases is co-funded by the LIFE programme of the European Union.
