OBJECTIVE
Water regeneration from WWTP
Life3E aims to improve the sustainability of water resources through the demonstration, with an innovative concept-based prototype, of the efficient wastewater remediation in coastal urban wastewater treatment plants (UWWTPs) for urban, irrigation or industrial uses.

TIMELINE
The project, initiated in October 2020, is set to present its final results in September 2024
2020 - 2021DEVELOPMENT
Prototype definition and design.2021 - 2024PILOT PLANT
Pilot plant construction, integration, and demonstration in a WWTP.2021 - 2024MONITORING
Evaluation of the impact and effectiveness of the solution.
ROLE OF APRIA
Construction of the pilot plant with RED technology

Apria's role in the LIFE-3E project is the design, construction, and integration of a pilot plant with RED technology that will generate electricity from the saline concentration of seawater.
CONSORTIUM
LIFE-3E is implemented by a consortium of five partners
Medio Ambiente, Agua, Residuos y EnergÃa de Cantabria, S.A (MARE), Apria, Centro de Investigación del Medio Ambiente (CIMA) , Technische Universitat Darmstadt, and Universidad de Cantabria.
