The project REFINE: From Solar Energy to fuels has been awarded and financed under the Horizon Europe program.
REFINE, with a duration period of 48 months, focuses on novel hybrid inorganic-biological systems for the production of solar fuels from CO2 to H2 as the sole feedstock.
The consortium is formed by 9 partners including the Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology (SMN, UiO), Institute for Energy Technology, Oslo University Hospital, RWTH Aachen University, University of Strathclyde, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Plataforma Solar de Almería – CIEMAT, Loughborough University, and Apria Systems, S.L., each of whom will be in charge of different tasks of the project.
In this sense, Apria will be in charge of the design & construction of the PV-driven photo-electrolyser prototype.
