The project Clean hydrogen from solar photo(thermo)catalytic reforming of biomass-derived compounds in vapour phase (Clyosphere) has been awarded and funded by funds from Sodercan and Horizon Europe
Clyosphere, with a 36-month duration, aims to demonstrate clean hydrogen production from the photothermal transformation of biomass-derived compounds, using solar light by integrating novel photoactive catalysts inside an innovative photoreactor based on solar Compound Parabolic Concentrator (CPC) configuration.
The consortium comprises 4 partners: Università de Palermo, CNRS, CSIC and Apria Systems, each of which will be responsible for different aspects of the project.
In this regard, Apria will be in charge of the design, up-scale, and construction of a CPC photo(thermo) reactor that will incorporate the monolithic 3D hybrid photo(thermo)catalysts.
