- Budget: 4,496,094.00 €
- Period: January 2025– December 2028

OBJECTIVE
The overall objective of RECOBATs is to obtain a comprehensive and versatile strategy for the second life and recycling of lithium-ion batteries for electromobility at the end of their useful life, covering the research of technologies in the different stages of the process; from logistics and safety in transportation, deactivation, automatic disassembly, cell condition diagnosis, as well as regeneration in new batteries and direct recycling, through selective separation for the recovery of cathode, anode, copper and aluminum, and indirect recycling from the black mass for the recovery of strategic materials and graphite in adequate purity to give it a second life through biohydrometallurgy, supercritical fluids and purification technologies.

TIMELINE
The project, initiated in January 2025, is set to present its final result in December 2028
