VALCO2-T Project star-up

The project VALCO2-T “Validation of a prototype of CO₂ – Recycling Plant in hard to abate sectors: textile industry” was awarded by MCIN/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 and European Union NextGenerationEU/ PRTR under its “Proyectos de I+D+i en líneas estratégicas, en colaboración público-privada 2021” call last december. The project VALCO2-T aims at industrial decarbonization of the textile sector through the validation of a new electrocatalytic route, based on photovoltaic supply, in which the electro-reduction of CO₂ and the oxidation of waste lead to derived products capable of reducing the carbon footprint of current processes. The project kick-off meeting took place in January, while a monitoring meeting was held at the University of Cantabria last March 3rd, 2023.
