The project "Development of a comprehensive battery recycling strategy" (RECOBATS) has been awarded and funded with funds from CDTI.
RECOBATS, with a 36-month duration, aims to obtain a comprehensive and versatile strategy for the second life and recycling of lithium-ion batteries for electromobility at the end of their useful life.
The consortium comprises 11 partners: Econintegral, BeeCycle, DGH, Envirobat, FCC Ámbito, Recyclia, CETIM, Aimen, CIIAE, CSIC-CENIM y Apria Systems.
In this sense, Apria will be in charge of the integration, scale-up and validation of innovative processes, based on membrane, chemical and electrochemical technologies, for the purification of strategic raw materials such as Li, Co, Mn, Ni, Cu, etc., present in bioleachates obtained from end-of-life lithium-ion batteries.
