“ZINCGREEN: zinc selective recovery for steel galvanizing industry” project, has been funded through the program for the promotion of the circular economy, promoted by SODERCAN within its R&D area.
The main objective of this project is the assessment of the technical-economic feasibility of a ZINCGREEN system for the steel galvanization industry. It is based on a new technology that allows the selective recovery of metallic zinc and ferric chloride from exhausted acids from pickling baths (SPAs) generated in the galvanizing processes, thus minimizing their environmental impact. To do this, it is intended to evaluate the performance of new membrane contactors, which allow to ensure the scalability of the technology.
