The project DSWAP, funded by PRIMA Program under H2020 has been successfully concluded.
Along this project, a pilot plant operated in a sequential fertilizer-drawn forward osmosis and nanofiltration processes and continuous mode yielding a variable flow rate depending on the fertilizer concentration has been achieved.
This technology has been used to reduce pathogens and contaminants from wastewater and irrigate crops in an efficient, safe, and sustainable way.
Besides, these systems can be adapted to specific regions and user needs.
DSWAP aims to shift towards a circular economy in agriculture irrigation in arid and semi-arid regions.
