We are happy to announce that the Project LIFE-4-Fgases “Towards a circular economy for refrigerants: novel hybrid approach to selectively recycling F-gases” has been approved for funding by the call LIFE Climate 2020, launched by the European Commission.
The main goal of LIFE-4-Fgases is to contribute to the reduction of global warming potential (GWP) by developing an alternative, environmentally separation processes for recycling/recovery the fluorinated gases (HFCs) contained in end-of-life equipment, for reutilisation purposes in novel environmentally-friendly refrigerant mixtures with low-GWP.
LIFE-4-Fgases execution will be carried out by a consortium led by APRIA and accounting with the University of Cantabria, Nova University of Lisbon, European Recycling platform and Ambigroup Reciclagem, thus covering all the value chain. The project will have a total duration of 48 months and has an approved budget above 1,350,000 €.
