Last February 17th was held the kick-off meeting of the new research project Solar catalysis for a renewable energy Future, SOLFUTURE, PLEC2021- 007906, funded by MCIN/AEI /10.13039/501100011033 and by the European Union NextGenerationEU/PRTR. SOLFuture purposes a combined strategy based in the synergy of 4 research institution IMDEA Energía, ICMM-CSIC, ICIQ, PSA-CIEMAT and 2 private companies APRIA and CEPSA to transform sunlight to ubiquitous molecules (CO2, H2O, N2…) and waste (biomass residues or waste water) into valuable (e.g., H2, CO, CH4, C2-C3, NH3…), displacing the use of fossil chemicals and fuels. This project started last December and has a total duration of 36 months.
