HYLANTIC Follow-up Meeting
HYLANTIC Follow-up Meeting

Second follow-up meeting of the European project HYLANTIC “Atlantic Network for Renewable Generation and Supply of Hydrogen to promote high energy efficiency” took place in the University of Brest (France) last 6th November 2018. During the meeting, the eleven project partners presented their advances and discussed about future actions for the next meeting that will be held in Belfast on March 2019.

EOLUTION presented in AEDyR International Congress

The Spanish Desalination and Reuse Association (AEDyR), celebrated last October its XII International Congress. The event aims to offer an international forum attended by experts in water desalination, treatment and reuse. Numerous companies, public institutions, universities and research centres attended the event, in which the latest innovations were presented, thus promoting the exchange of knowledge, techniques and ideas. In this framework, the EOLUTION project, funded within the framework of the SODERCAN programme boosting R&DE actions, was presented within the framework of the congress, raising an interesting discussion on alternatives with greater implementation feasibility. EOLUTION aims to be an important step in the efficient treatment of liquid effluents.

PEMFC prototype
PEMFC prototype

APRIA Systems completes the construction of an integrated PEMFC prototype (proton exchange membrane) for its application in the transport sector within the Interreg PEMFC-SUDOE project. An electric bicycle has been developed integrating a fuel cell to generate electricity from hydrogen towards more sustainable mobility alternatives.

The European Association of Economy and Competitiveness awards APRIA Systems the Gold Medal for Merit at Work

APRIA Systems receives, in recognition of its professional career, the 'Gold Medal for Merit at Work' of the European Association of Economics and Competitiveness (AEDEEC).

Pedro Gómez, CEO of APRIA Systems, was in charge of receiving this award, which recognizes the entrepreneurial spirit of various companies and professional experts within the European framework.

The event took place in Madrid and was attended by the president of the AEDEEC, José Luis Barceló, editor and director of the newspaper El Mundo Financiero and was presented by the journalist Emilio Javier Gómez Plaza.

LIFE-2-ACID project monitoring meeting
LIFE-2-ACID project monitoring meeting

Last September 20th a technical and financial monitoring meeting of the LIFE-2-ACID project (LIFE16 ENV / ES / 000242) was held in the facilities of the University of Cantabria. The monitor in charge of assisting the European Commission in the follow-up of LIFE-2-ACID evaluated the technical and financial progress of the project in order to justify the first annuity.

IMPULRAS Project

El proyecto IMPULRAS: Hacia una mejora tecno-económica de ELOXIRAS®: Control y minimización de subproductos (RTC-2017-6035-2) (MINECO/FEDER, UE) obtiene financiación de la convocatoria Retos-Colaboración 2017, Programa Estatal de I+D+i Orientada a los Retos de la Sociedad. IMPULRAS tiene como objetivo mejorar la competitividad de la tecnología ELOXIRAS® a través de la minimización de los subproductos generados en los procesos electroquímicos para el tratamiento de agua marina procedente de sistemas de acuicultura en recirculación (RAS). El proyecto se ejecutará en 30 meses con un consorcio formado por APRIA Sytems (coordinador del proyecto) y el Departamento de Ingenierías Química y Biomolecular (IQB) de la Universidad de Cantabria.

Photochemical equipment with LED technology for the Ramón Llull University.

Shipped a photochemical equipment with LED technology for research purposes at laboratory scale to the University Ramón Llull. It has a treatment capacity of approximately 1 L and it is formed by a jacketed CSTR photoreactor that contains inside four strips with UV and vis LEDs. The LEDs have adjustable intensity and include a cooling system by forced air convection.

Photocatalysis and electrochemical oxidation equipment for the University of Cantabria.

Shipped a plant that combines photocatalysis with LED technology with electrochemical oxidation for research purposes at laboratory scale to the University of Cantabria.The plant has a treatment capacity of 2 L and allows to work independently with each advanced oxidation process or in series. The photocatalysis part is formed by an annular borosilicate photoreactor that contains inside two strips with UV and vis LEDs. The LEDs have adjustable intensity and include a cooling system by forced air convection. The electrochemical oxidation part comprises a cell with an BDD anode and a stainless-steel cathode and its corresponding power source. The plant also contains a continuous online measurement system of pH and O2 and a temperature control system using a thermostatic bath.
