LIFE-2-ACID project monitoring meeting

Last September 20th a technical and financial monitoring meeting of the LIFE-2-ACID project (LIFE16 ENV / ES / 000242) was held in the facilities of the University of Cantabria. The monitor in charge of assisting the European Commission in the follow-up of LIFE-2-ACID evaluated the technical and financial progress of the project in order to justify the first annuity.

IMPULRAS Project

El proyecto IMPULRAS: Hacia una mejora tecno-económica de ELOXIRAS®: Control y minimización de subproductos (RTC-2017-6035-2) (MINECO/FEDER, UE) obtiene financiación de la convocatoria Retos-Colaboración 2017, Programa Estatal de I+D+i Orientada a los Retos de la Sociedad. IMPULRAS tiene como objetivo mejorar la competitividad de la tecnología ELOXIRAS® a través de la minimización de los subproductos generados en los procesos electroquímicos para el tratamiento de agua marina procedente de sistemas de acuicultura en recirculación (RAS). El proyecto se ejecutará en 30 meses con un consorcio formado por APRIA Sytems (coordinador del proyecto) y el Departamento de Ingenierías Química y Biomolecular (IQB) de la Universidad de Cantabria.

Photochemical equipment with LED technology for the Ramón Llull University.

Shipped a photochemical equipment with LED technology for research purposes at laboratory scale to the University Ramón Llull. It has a treatment capacity of approximately 1 L and it is formed by a jacketed CSTR photoreactor that contains inside four strips with UV and vis LEDs. The LEDs have adjustable intensity and include a cooling system by forced air convection.

Photocatalysis and electrochemical oxidation equipment for the University of Cantabria.

Shipped a plant that combines photocatalysis with LED technology with electrochemical oxidation for research purposes at laboratory scale to the University of Cantabria.The plant has a treatment capacity of 2 L and allows to work independently with each advanced oxidation process or in series. The photocatalysis part is formed by an annular borosilicate photoreactor that contains inside two strips with UV and vis LEDs. The LEDs have adjustable intensity and include a cooling system by forced air convection. The electrochemical oxidation part comprises a cell with an BDD anode and a stainless-steel cathode and its corresponding power source. The plant also contains a continuous online measurement system of pH and O2 and a temperature control system using a thermostatic bath. El pasado 11 de junio se celebró en la Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia de la Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCT NOVA) el evento de lanzamiento del proyecto de cooperación internacional Interreg SUDOE ‘KET4F-Gas’ en el que participan 20 entidades de España, Francia, Portugal y Emiratos Árabes Unidos, entre los que se encuentra Apria Systems, trabajando para el desarrollo y la mejora de tecnologías para la recuperación y sustitución de los gases fluorados. Durante el evento, se presentaron los objetivos, actividades y principales resultados esperados en el marco del proyecto.

PEMFC-SUDOE project 2018 annual meeting

Last Friday, May 25th, took place in Palavas-les-Flots (France) the annual follow-up meeting of the project "Energetic Sustainability at the SUDOE Region: PEMFC-SUDOE Network". Project partners presented the progress made during the second year of the project. Apria is responsible within WP4 of the construction and testing of an integrated PEMFC prototype suitable for transport applications (automotive and bicycles) and collaborates with the University of Cantabria in WP1  in the techno-economic evaluation of innovative alternatives for the generation of hydrogen from industrial effluents.

APRIA Systems participates in the conference

Due to the celebration of the European Maritime Day on May 20, the Government of Cantabria in collaboration with Coastal Town Councils, Action Groups of Cantabria and other organizations, has scheduled a series of events around the fishing sector to celebrate the II European Week of Fishing.

In this context, APRIA Systems will participate in the conference "European projects in fishing", which will take place in the Plenary Hall of the Colindres Town Hall May 24 at 7:30 p.m. Pedro Gómez, CEO, will talk about the development of the ELOXIRAS® project, our innovative system for the treatment and reuse of water in RAS aquaculture systems.
