“Decarbonising Ireland with Zero-Carbon Technologies" seminar, Galway
APRIA participated in the seminar “Decarbonising Ireland with Zero-Carbon Technologies” last July 16 in Galway, Ireland, sharing our experience within HYLANTIC project co-financed by the 2014-2020 INTERREG Atlantic Area programme. The seminar brought together stakeholders from Ireland and Northern Ireland to discuss opportunities and challenges for the deployment of hydrogen technologies in rural and peripheral regions. The event also served as official launch of Hydrogen Utilisation & Green Energy (HUGE) Project, from 2014-2020 INTERREG VB Northern Periphery and Arctic Programme.
Kickoff meeting PRIMA-DSWAP project
DSWAP (Decision support-based approach for sustainable water reuse application in agricultural production), a new challenging research project funded under PRIMA call just started with a 2 days kickoff meeting at CSIC in Barcelona.
The DSWAP project aims to provide flexible and cost-effective wastewater treatment solutions specifically designed for crop irrigation, with minimal ecological and agronomic impacts, combined to decision support tools coupled to cutting-edge analytical methodologies, consistently with the circular economy approach.
The DSWAP consortium encompasses a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, microbiologists, plant scientists, chemists, soil physicists and ecologists from academic (Technical University of Dresden, University of Cyprus, University of Loraine, University of Salerno, Catholic University of Porto) and government research (Agricultural Research Organization (coordinator), CSIC-Barcelona) laboratories and SMEs (Fluence Corp., Euromarket LTD, APRIA Systems) highly experienced in both scientific and applicative aspects of wastewater treatment and reuse.
Photochemical equipment with LED technology for the Rovira i Virgili University.
Shipped to the Rovira i Virgili University a photochemical equipment with LED technology at laboratory scale for research purposes. It is formed by a jacketed photoreactor that contains an immersion lamp with two kind of light: UV and vis. The LEDs have adjustable intensity and include a cooling system by forced air convection. Moreover, the equipment incudes an online continuous system for the measurement of pH, T,O2and redox.

RAS aquaculture for a sustainable future
The Global Aquaculture Alliance has published an interesting article on the potential of RAS technology for the growth of aquaculture without overexploiting water and land resources. In APRIA, we intend to contribute to this change through ELOXIRAS, a novel system for the water treatment, improving the quality of life of species and increasing their production. APRIA Systems in the SME Instrument
APRIA Systems has participated in the Workshop: "EUROSTARS, SME Instrument and European Innovation Council (EIC) - Current situation and future outlook in Horizon Europe", organized by SODERCAN. In the current three-year work plan. The workshop has served to know first-hand the modifications foreseen in the current triannual work plan, as well as in the future Horizon Europe program for the period 2021-2027. APRIA Systems has presented its experience in the program through the ELOXIRAS project.
PEMFC?SUDOE Closing Meeting
The closing meeting of European project PEMFC?SUDOE took place at the University of Cantabria, Santander (Spain) last June 20th. APRIA has participated in WP4 with the construction and validation of two transport application demo integrating PEM fuel cell technology, as well as in WP1 with an impact & economic assessment of hydrogen recovery from wastewater and residual industrial gas streams.
